Regina King & Ava DuVernay Remember Trayvon Martin
Regina King and Ava DuVernay took to social media on Sunday (Feb 26) to remember Trayvon Martin on the fifth anniversary of his death.
2012, Zimmerman murdered Trayvon Martin, a 17-year-old walking back to his father's home from a convenience store, and walked away scot free.
Regina posted a photo of herself on Instagram wearing a "Trayvon" hoodie. The caption read, "5 years ago today #TrayvonMartin was killed. It
doesn't feel like it's been that long because TOO many more hash tags have followed. Hoodie still up! The movement continues #oursontrayvon @liberatedpeople"
Ava DuVernay took to Twitter and wrote, "Today marks the fifth anniversary of #Trayvon Martin's death + fifth anniversary of the Movement for Black Lives."
She included a clip from her Oscar nominated documentary, 13th.
Tracee Ellis Ross also took to social media to remember Trayvon.
We will Always remember you Mr. Trayvon Martin.
