Cardell Hayes Sues Will Smith's Widow & Estate Just when you think you've heard it all.... Cardell Hayes, the man who shot and killed former NFL star Will Smith and injured his wife during a road rage incident last April, has now filed a civil suit against his widow, Raquel Smith, Will's estate, and others for emotional distress and loss of enjoyment

of life. Hayes was eventually convicted of manslaughter and could face up to 40 years in prison. Sentencing is set for later this month. Meantime, Hayes is suing the Smiths in civil court for the assault, severe emotional distress, loss of enjoyment of life and more. Surprisingly, Will Smith's estate could be found liable despite the fact that Cardell Hayes killed him.
