Born January 5, 1968, Nicole Mitchell Murphy is a model, designer, media personality and business woman. One of 4 children and daughter of a U.S. Air Force pilot, she would gain recognition for her international modeling career, 12 year marriage to comedian/actor Eddie Murphy and participation on reality television show Hollywood Exes. Nicole Mitchell would begin modeling at age 13. Within a year, the 5'10" (178cm) Sacramento native would win an international modeling contest and sign with the Ford Modeling Agency. Although her mother Ellen would separate (and later reconcile) from her father and raise Nicole's three brothers Trevor, Nathan and Darius, Nicole would travel to Europe and spend 7 years modeling for designers Chanel, Valentino and Yves St. Laurent. In 1988, at the age of 20, Nicole would meet entertainer Eddie Murphy at the NAACP Image Awards show. Engaged on Christmas Eve 1991, the pair wed two years later in the Plaza Hotel in New York City. With daughter Bria serving as the flower girl, their 500 guests, including Bruce Willis, Quincy Jones, Bill Murray, Chris Rock, Prince and Arsenio Hall, were

asked to donate to a foundation for the terminally ill, in lieu of wedding gifts. The couple divorced in 2006. After receiving a $15 million divorce settlement, Murphy would invest $11 million with teenage friend Troy David Stratos. In 2010, she sued Stratos for fraud, obstruction of justice and money laundering. She has alleged Stratos used $7 million of her funds for personal expenses, including luxury homes and cars. A trial date has been set for October 2015. Beginning in 2007, Nicole Murphy was romantically tied to former NFL football player Michael Strahan. Following a 5 year engagement, the pair would amicably split in late 2014.
