Wisconsin Man Allegedly Kills Landlord Over $30 Rent Increase.

A Wisconsin man is accused of killing his landlord over a $30 increase in his rent. Jason Tilley, 37, faces charges of intentional homicide and possession of a firearm by a felon after the March 1 shooting. Prosecutors say Tilley admitted to shooting his landlord in the back of the head because he was upset about a rent increase, Fox 6 reports. Police were first contacted on March 1 when the victim's wife called to report her husband missing, according to a criminal complaint obtained by the outlet. The victim, who has not been identified, had gone to an apartment complex he owns in Cudahy and planned to meet with a tenant he only identified as "Jason" and had not returned, the victim's wife told police. When deputies went to the apartment complex to speak with Tilley they found blood on the door and frame of Tilley's

unit, the outlet reports. Tilley was nowhere to be found. A neighbor allegedly told police she saw Tilley and the victim "talking outside the garage area around 3:30pm" that day. The next day, officers returned to the apartment complex and located the victim's body in the garage. A pool of blood was found that led to a large blanket rolled up that contained the victim, police say. An autopsy revealed the victim died of a single gunshot wound to the back of the head. Tilley was arrested the following day. When police asked about his whereabouts, he allegedly told them he did meet with the victim and paid money for rent. Tilley told police he paid the landlord $560 in cash for rent and was informed the rent was being increased by $30, which upset him and was still bothering him days later, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports.
