Decomposing Body Found In Man’s Basement

Authorities found a man's decomposing body inside of a basement. The man’s hands and feet were tied. Neighbors called authorities complaining about a foul smell coming from the home. When authorities arrived, they found a bloody shirt. Burned documents were on the stove and the sink. The South Carolina home looked as if it was ransacked. Authorities noticed that a piece of furniture was blocking a door. Once the furniture was moved, it cleared a pathway to go the basement. they found the body of 61-year-old Eldon W Ledford. His decomposing remains were found in November when a neighbor reported a foul odor coming from the home, which they hadn't seen any activity there for several weeks. Ledford passed away of blunt force trauma. Authorities said that last week Adeodoyin Babafemi Odutola, who is 36, was arrested in Georgia on suspicion of fatal injury. One of Ledford’s acquaintances asked authorities to check on him. This was because no one had seen or heard from him in days. Authorities said that when they arrived to his house, his car was in the driveway. When they went into the home, they saw that dresser drawers had been pulled out in all rooms. Authorities then called Fresh Market in Augusta, which is where Ledford was looking to gain employment at the time. An employee said that Ledford went there for a meat-cutting evaluation and was offered a position. He never returned to start the job. Authorities weren't able to find Ledford until the call from neighbors that were concerned about the foul odor coming from his house.
