Social Media Influence Remains Were Found 7 Years After Going Missing

17 year old Alexis Murphy, who was a social media influencer, went missing back in August of 2013. This happened just before her senior in high school. The new security footage along with previously undiscovered social media activity, helped with bringing this case to a close. It has been stated that the teenager was abducted and fatally injured by a man who was charged with taking her life. Alexis’ family are dedicated to keeping this story alive. on her social media before going missing. She shared that she had a hair appointment that day. Authorities discovered her car was abandoned 70 miles from Lynchburg. The security camera footage showed Alexis conversing with a man outside of the gas station. The man was identified as Randy Taylor, who was 48 at the time. When approached, he claimed that Murphy was with another man. He said that they followed him to his trailer. He revealed that she wanted to purchase an illegal substance. It was found that Alexis’ white Car followed Taylor’s truck down Route 29. Taylor was found guilty of kidnapping and first-degree fatal injury in 2014. Alexis’ remains were found at the end of 2020.
