Elderly Woman loses home after neighbor forged deed A 35-year-old New York woman has been arrested. She was arrested on the charges of forging a deed to take ownership of an elderly woman's house. County, on Long Island. She plead not guilty. She has been accused of paying just $10 to transfer the deed of her mother's neighbor's $350k home to her name. The owner, who is 78-year-old Rosemarie Mika, claims that she was informed of the deed transfer. She received a letter from Nassau County authorities. She immediately called the authorities.
