Alabama Wife Kills Estranged Husband After They Argued Over A Condom He Found.

SELMA, AL (WSFA) - A woman is charged with shooting and killing her husband in Selma Tuesday morning. It happened in the 2100 block of Church Street. Investigators say Carl Dixon was taking out the trash when a used condom fell out, and he presumed his estranged wife, Jackquelin Dixon, had been cheating on him. After a confrontation, police say Jackquelin Dixon fired one shot at her husband in the front yard. She produced a small caliber weapon. We believe it to be a .22, said Selma police chief Spencer Collier. Carl Dixon was struck once in the chest and died in the driveway. There were no witnesses,
but Collier said their investigation matches Jackquelin Dixon's statement that her husband made an aggressive charge toward her. Investigators said Jackquelin Dixon called 911 after the shooting and has been cooperative. She is charged with murder and was booked in the Dallas County jail on a $100,000 bond. She has since posted her bond. Police said it's too early to determine whether this was a shooting of self-defense. The couple was reportedly in the process of reconciling their marriage. Jackquelin Dixon took out a restraining order against her husband two years ago, but that order was never enforced because police say Dixon often invited him back to the house.
