Step inside the studio with J. Cole in the behind-the-scenes documentary "Eyez" released Friday exclusively on Tidal. Cole has been largely silent since his last studio album "2014 Forest Hills Drive" until Thursday when the artwork for "4 Your Eyez Only" appeared on iTunes available for pre-order. The album's expected release is Dec. 9. Cole dropped the 40-minute, non-narrated documentary "Eyez" ahead of the album to give a look at Cole's musical process and his life over the past two years. It starts with an opening scene in New York's Electric Lady Studios where a violinist is working out a lick. Later the footages shows Cole having a conversation about music theory in which he expresses

frustration that there are rules in place to label every musical decision. There is also a music video for a track titled "False Prophets" that is already causing controversy for appearing to take aim at Kanye West. Cole has previously released two other documentaries, "J. Cole: Road to Homecoming" in 2015 and, in the same year, a concert film "Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming." "4 Your Eyez Only" will be Cole's fourth studio album. He has been nominated for five Grammy awards including one for best new artist in 2012, which he lost to Bon Iver. Cole was the first artist signed to Jay Z's Roc Nation label in 2009, and is a minor shareholder in Tidal.
