Teenager Gets Legs Amputated After Eating Left Over Carry Out Food

A 19 year old student had to have their legs amputated due to eating left over Chinese food. When he went to the hospital, the young man had a temperature of 105 and his heart rate was over 160 beats per minute. He is lucky to be alive. That heart rate is dangerously higher than the average rate that results from vigorous exercise for his age. The patient had to be sedated. After he was sedated, he had developed a purplish rash and had to be air lifted to the PICU. The rash got worse. It spread to his face, chest, abdomen, back, arms and legs. The only place that it didn’t spread to was his feet and palms of his hands. This was a sign that his skin was dying off.
