A woman in Philadelphia has been arrested due to her being in an altercation at a college campus. She was arrested for stabbing three students. One of the victims did not make it. This all happened at Lincoln University. Nydira Smith, 39 has been charged with fatal injury among other things. Prosecutors says that Smith’s brother attends the HBCU. She became worried about him after learning that his roommate possibly stole items from a group of students. Deborah Ryan, who is the district attorney believes that the fatal stabbing of Jawine Evans, who was 21, was very much premeditated. This conclusion came about because Smith allegedly drove an hour and a half to the school with a kitchen “to join in a fight with the intent to cause a fatal injury.” Authorities explained that security allowed Smith onto the campus because her brother was a student. “We treat close family members as extended members of the community. When Smith drove to the front gate she presented her identification, verified her brother’s information, and said she was there to pick him up,” Investigators got

ahold of three videos of the brawl. One of the video showed Smith waving a knife that she plunges into Evans’ neck. He’s heard yelling, “She stabbed me.” Authorities said he suffered a traumatic arterial bleed. Two other students, Eric Dickerson and Clifton Walker, who are both 22, were also stabbed. They were fortunate to survive the attack. In a statement after the stabbing, the Higher Learning Institution said, “We are deeply saddened by the incident that occurred on campus last night. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. We take the safety of our students seriously and are working with local authorities as there is an ongoing investigation.” The authorities followed Smith’s vehicle to her home with a GPS. They confiscated a set of knives. One knife just happened to be missing. The Investigators also discovered bodily fluids in her car and residence. She also had to have hospital attention due to a cut that she had obtained during the brawl. Smith is currently being held with no bail. A hearing has been scheduled.
