Mother-of-two 'offered Her Ex-boyfriend $40k To Murder Her Fiance And Told Him She Was Only Marrying For The Groom's Life Insurance Money

A mother-of-two from Tennessee has been arrested on counts of solicitation to commit murder after allegedly trying to hire her ex-boyfriend to kill her fiance. Crystal Gadlin, 32, from Memphis, was apprehended on Friday after police say the would-be hit man blew the whistle on the $40,000 murder-for-hire plot. According to an arrest affidavit, Gadlin picked up the father of her two sons in her car on Thursday so he could see the boys. While inside the vehicle, Gadlin allegedly began telling her ex-boyfriend how she was going to marry another man to get her hands on his life insurance policy. At that point, the ex surreptitiously began recording

their conversation on his cellphone. Gadlin then allegedly laid out her plot to have her ex kill her would-be husband after the wedding. She said once she collected on the insurance policy, she would pay her ex-boyfriend $40,000 for the hit. Instead of going along with the plan, the father of Gadlin's children called the Memphis Police Department and said he had information about a murder-for-hire plot, reported The Commercial Appeal. Police officers went to arrest Gadlin but could not get a statement for her because, by her own admission, she was high on cocaine and marijauna. She was booked into the Shelby County Jail on $200,000 bond.
