Stepfather of Maleah Davis reportedly says that she was abducted?
Maleah Davis along with her brothers were once taken from their parents home sometime last year.
Her stepfather, Darion Vence, informed police that he was driving the car to the airport to pick up Brittany Bowens, who is Davis' mother, recently. He said that he had gotten a flat tire. He had pulled over to check if it had a flat tire. Vence said that some men in a pickup truck had pulled up on him. They apparently knocked him out and abducted him. They also took
Maleah and his 2-year-old son before eventually allowing him and the boy to go free, according to Houston police.
Police initially said that Vence was not a suspect, and even released a photo of him on Social media that showed an injury to his forehead. After things were not adding up, they later labeled him a "person of interest."
"I realize there's a lot of blanks in that story, but we're hoping the public can fill in the blanks," Sgt. Mark Holbrook told reporters.
Maleah according to police, had undergone brain surgeries that "needed a lot of care" and was recently sick.
