A Houston man has been arrested and charged with fatally injuring his common law wife in front of their 9-year-old daughter. According to the Houston authorities,they responded to a report of an incident at an apartment complex around 8 pm. They found Jasmine McHenry, 29, inside of her apartment with three fatal wounds. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics. The suspect, Thomas Wilson Alexander, 32, was identified as McHenry’s common-law husband and the father of their 3-year-old son. He fled the scene after the incident but was later apprehended by authorities. He was booked into the Jail and his bail was set at $1 million. Court documents revealed that Alexander wounded McHenry three times in front of her daughter from a previous relationship. The daughter told authorities that her mother and Alexander had been arguing before the

incident. She also said that Alexander had threatened to fatally injure McHenry before. McHenry’s family and friends described her as a beautiful, bright, vibrant and hardworking woman who loved her children. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help cover her funeral expenses and support her children. “Jasmine McHenry was a beautiful, bright, vibrant, hardworking, young mother of two…Azariah Taylor 9 and Ayden Alexander 3. She loved her family. She did not deserve to {leave} like this,” McHenry’s mother, Cynthia Demerson, was also injured when she arrived at the scene after hearing about the incident. She was taken to a hospital for treatment and is expected to recover. The case is being investigated. Justice for Jasmine: A Houston woman was fatally shot by her husband in front of her daughter.
