Quincy Jones Hospitalized After Food Reaction

Legendary music producer Quincy Jones was hospitalized on Saturday after having a bad reaction to some food he ate. The 90-year-old composer and record executive was taken to the emergency room from his Los Angeles home by paramedics, but was released shortly thereafter once doctors determined he was OK. According to his representative, Jones never lost consciousness and was in "great spirits" by the time he left the hospital. The spokesperson also said that Jones called emergency"out of an abundance of caution" after feeling unwell. Jones is one of the most influential and respected figures in American music, having collaborated with and shaped the careers of countless artists, from Miles Davis and Duke Ellington to Ray Charles and Michael Jackson. He has won 28 Grammy Awards and received a record 80 nominations. He is also the first African American to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Score for his work on the
1967 film "In Cold ". In addition to his musical achievements, Jones has also served as a producer on a number of film and TV projects, including a recent reboot of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" and an upcoming remake of "The Color Purple". He also released a 10-volume album in January 2022, titled "Milestones of a Legend", which encompasses nearly 200 of his greatest jazz recordings from the 50s and early 60s. Jones has had his fair share of health issues through the years. In 1974, he suffered a life-threatening brain aneurysm that required two operations and left him with six steel pins in his head. He also revealed in his 2018 documentary, "Quincy", that his mother was a schizophrenic who was taken away in a straight-jacket when he was seven. We wish Quincy Jones a speedy recovery and hope he continues to grace us with his musical genius for many more years to come.
