Tia Mowry, the star of "Sister, Sister" and "Family Reunion", has opened up about her decision to divorce her husband of 14 years, Cory Hardrict. The actress filed for divorce in Los Angeles on October 4, 2022, citing irreconcilable differences. She requested joint physical and legal custody of their son Cree, 11, and daughter Cairo, 4. She announced the split on her Social Media Account, where she said they would remain friends and co-parent their children.
“I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways. I have always been honest with my fans, and today is no different. These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness. We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children. I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives.
In a recent interview with, Mowry revealed that her children were part of her decision to end the marriage. She said that she wanted to show them that happiness is important and that staying in a relationship that is not working is not healthy.
“A part of my decision was also for them. I wanted them to see their mom happy. I wanted them to see their mom living her best life. And I wanted them to see their mom being authentic to who she is. And sometimes when you’re in a relationship that’s not working anymore, you’re not being authentic to yourself or your partner.”

Mowry and Hardrict met on the set of "Hollywood Horror" in 2000 and became better acquainted after she spotted him at a bus stop. They dated for six years and married in 2008. They are both successful actors, with Hardrict starring in "All American: Homecoming" and several films, including "American Sniper".
Mowry said that she still considers the relationship a "success" and sees the split as a "celebration". She said that she learned a lot from the marriage and was able to create some beautiful children with Hardrict.
