The search for missing Illinois 1-year-old Jaclyn Angel has ended in an unfortunate way. The little girl's remains were discovered by construction workers in a retention pond close to Interstate 80 in Hammond. Angel had been reported missing less than two days prior of being found. Authorities also found her mother Ja'nya Murphy, who was just 21,non responsive inside of her apartment in Wheeling. According to records , Murphy had been strangled. Angel was taken from the apartment. It was reported that the person took the child and fled in a maroon 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan.  There was surveillance footage that was found

by detectives . It showed Ja’Nya and a man together the day before her demise. The man was later identified and was immediately a person of of interest. Authorities have reported that Murphy and the man had a relationship at one point. This man has not been publicly identified yet. It has been determined that he is not the father of Angel. Murphy was reported missing after failing to show up to work. When authorities were unable to reach Murphy, they obtained access to her apartment. Unfortunately when they got inside by way of the balcony, they discovered her body.
