Dallas Wife Gets Ex To Fatally Injure Husband And Tricked The Neighbors

Jennifer Faith's neighbors showed love and support after her husband's demise. Unfortunately they found out that authorities believed that she orchestrated the whole thing herself. It was around 7:30 a.m. when Vicky Mendoza heard the shots and the screams. "It sounded like a movie," Mendoza tells reporters. "She was screaming very horrifically. It was very, very scary, like over and over and over." The neighbor says that she immediately looked out her window and saw her neighbors' dog, Maggie, darting down their street with her leash in trailing behind. Mendoza called emergency and authorities soon arrived to find the body of 49-year-old Jamie Faith. He had been shot seven times three times above the neck , three times in the stomach area and once below the belt by an unknown assailant wearing a blue mask and a hoodie. The assailant had tried to take some jewelry from Jennifer Faith, who is Jamie's wife, after duct-taping her hands. Surprisingly they quickly gave up, jumped into a black pickup truck parked on the street and sped away. Her injuries were minimal, but Jamie’s fate was not the same. He passed away at the scene. Jamie was fatally injured just one day after celebrating the 15th anniversary of the day he and Jennifer met. The shooting, says Mendoza, rattled the Oak Cliff community. "I was scared for my life," she says. "I've been in Oak Cliff my whole life, and I know nothing like that just happens, especially right before school starts, kids are walking, getting picked up, going to school, people leaving for work. I was scared for my husband even to go to work. I was scared to take out my trash. I was always looking over my shoulder, thinking there was a killer on the streets." Despite the worry, members of the community quickly rallied around Jennifer, setting up a Donation page as well as a meal plan train, providing two meals a day for several weeks. This included a vegan Thanksgiving feast for Jennifer and her grown daughter, Amber. Kathi Kibbel even volunteered to walk Maggie, the dog when Jennifer was out of town. "I offered up my services and she graciously

accepted, and so I took care of the dog while they were at the funeral," she tells reporters . "And then when she would travel, I was her pet sitter. She seemed like a woman who'd lost her husband, the love of her life." A few months after the ordeal, Jennifer went on the News venues on tv to thank everyone and to also plead with authorities to capture the person responsible for the slaying. Authorities on the federal level eventually made an arrest. They arrested Jennifer. Authorities allege that Jennifer orchestrated her husband's fatal injury and that the assailant happens to have been Jennifer's old high school and college boyfriend. Darrin Lopez, who is 49 has been pointed out as the person who fatally injured Jamie. Authorities believe that they restarted their relationship over social media and that Jennifer not only romanced him but set up fake email accounts. This was to pretend to be Jamie to falsely convince Lopez that her husband was physically mistreating her. This happened to not be true. Lopez is accused by the state of being the triggerman, driving hundreds of miles from his home in Tennessee. He is also facing a federal weapons charge. Lopez has plead not guilty to the weapons charge and is expected to enter a plea to the fatal injury charge soon. Jennifer was also charged with use of interstate commerce in the commission of fatal injury -for-hire. She was previously charged with obstruction of justice. She has yet to admit anything. Mendoza explains that she wasn't surprised by Jennifer's arrest. "I thought it was strange because the next day [after the event ], she was out walking her dog, like nothing," she says. Another neighbor, Emery Wilson says that he was one of the neighbors who walked with Jennifer after the event but stopped "because I just didn't feel right." I didn't know what it was," he tells reporters . "And to be honest, I didn't want to believe that she would do this because the community really poured everything into her ... She probably had one of the most successful neighborhood Donation pages I've ever seen. It's unfortunate."
