Baltimore Woman Fatally Injured While Delivering Food

A Maryland man says that he watched as his food delivery partner was fatally shot. He decided to share his shocking story exclusively with reporters. Authorities says that they are investigating the incident , calling it a robbery that turned fatal. Cheryl McCormack was a 51-year-old wife and mother of three children. She was fatally injured in northeast Baltimore just after 2 a.m. The witness, who wants to remain anonymous, says that he was the food delivery driver that night. He says that his best friend McCormack was with him. "She always rode with me when she could, to help look out for addresses," he said. The man said that he witnessed the event that took her life. He was left unharmed. He said that his car had ran out of gas and he had to walk to a gas station near by. "Two young men approached me from the other side of the street, with weapon a in hand, he said, 'Give me everything you got.' So, I did," he said. to the car; he said, 'Who's in the car?' They opened the car door, told her, 'Give me the phone, give me your pocketbook.' The woman said, 'No, I'm not giving you anything,' and he shot her right in the head," said the survivor. "When I saw him stick his arm out, I went to grab, I went to grab hold of him and it was just that fast," he added. They fatally injured McCormack but left him alive. He says the suspects ran away. The survivor said he called authorities , then his friend, McCormack's husband. "I sat down on the bed, I didn't know what to do," said McCormack's husband. The husband also wanted to remain anonymous, but wanted to speak out on the city’s violence. "It's too much going on, it's senseless and there's no control. But I don't blame the authorities , I really do not blame the authorities.We have to have the prosecutors do their job. I don't care what you do in the city, if it's a crime, misdemeanor, whatever, punish them," he added. The survivor said: "The suspect’s had hoodies up, you know, so their face was shielded. It's incredible that someone will take a life over a Cell phone that's worth not even $50."
