Rapper Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Haynes Jr., was arrested early Wednesday morning in his hometown of St. Louis. The arrest took place around 4:45 a.m. when the Missouri State Highway Patrol found Nelly in possession of four illegal pills, a controlled substance.
Additionally, he was charged with not having insurance and had an outstanding traffic summons.
Nelly, known for his hit songs like “Hot in Herre” and “Dilemma,” was taken into custody by the Maryland Heights authorities Department following his initial
arrest by the highway patrol.
This incident adds to his legal troubles, as it is not the first time he has faced illegal substance-related charges. Back in 2001, Nelly was also arrested for illegal substance possession in St. Louis.
Despite the arrest, Nelly has since been released from custody. His representatives have yet to comment on the situation.
This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggles that some celebrities face, even as they continue to achieve success in their careers.
