The remains of an expectant mother that was found in Lake Michigan has been identified. The woman was 19-year-old Yarianna Wheeler. She lived in Chicago.
Authorities said that a fisherman found the woman’s remains in the water. The body was in the water between seven to 12 days. The remains took almost two weeks after discovery to identify.
said that Wheeler, who was six months pregnant, was injured with a sharp instrument multiple times.
The remains were so badly decomposed that they could only identify her by dental records.
An autopsy revealed she had several sharply forced injuries on her body. This case is still being investigated and it has been deemed a demise caused by someone else.
