Hundreds of drivers took the opportunity of a lifetime to fill up their tanks for dang near free, compared to the prices now. This was because of an error from the Manager. A manager in California accidentally set the price to 69 cents per gallon. The gas was supposed to cost a whopping $6.99. The employee apparently had misplaced the decimal.
This was a nice surprise for
the drivers, but the gas station took a huge loss. With the average cost of gas across the state being $6.50, the station lost $16,000 for the untimely mistake. The employee was unfortunately terminated.
The Ex Manager said:
"I put all three prices on there, except the diesel. The last one kind of didn't go. So, I just took responsibility for it and said yeah, it's my fault.
